The Federal Migration Service has received 180 applications from applicants from the BRICS countries who want to study at the Crimea Federal Institute, said Vladimir Kuryanov, pro-rector of the Vernadsky Crimea Federal University, speaking to the Russia Today radio station.

“The Federal Migration Service is now processing 180 applications submitted to the Crimea Federal University from practically all the BRICS countries. This is our general direction, which is of prime importance for us,” added Mr.Kuryanov.

He also pointed out that the participation of his university in the international project BRICS Global University will expand its cooperation with the BRICS countries in the near term.

According to the pro-rector, 335 foreign students have already enrolled in the university this year. Of these the largest number – 180 – were accepted to the Tavrida Academy. The Medical Academy has admitted 55 students from Uzbekistan, 40 from India and 25 from Ukraine. The Academy of Construction and Architecture and the Academy of Bioresources and Nature Management have accepted 10 foreign students each. Another 15 students from other countries will study at the Institute of Economics and Management.
