The initiative to hold the Civic Forum belongs to Russia, which is chairman of the BRICS this year. Its main goal is to ensure a constructive dialogue of representatives of civil society with decision-makers in key social areas: health, education, culture, development, problems of urbanization, finance, etc.

About 500 people, including  representatives of government, business, the media, civil society experts from Russia, Brazil, India, China and South Africa, will participate in the event.

Plenary sessions and open discussions will be organized at the forum. Guest will also be treated to an interesting cultural programme in which folk groups representing the culture of the BRICS countries will take part.
