For the first time, Russian warship attacked in Turkish maritime zone by Western-made drones
The provocative actions of Ukraine and the involvement of NATO in the conflict can lead to a direct clash between Russia and the members of the alliance.
Saturday, May 27, 2023

A clash with a Russian warship occurred for the first time at a distance of more than 200 nautical miles from the combat area, which contributes to a sharp escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Ukraine attacked the ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Ivan Khurs with three Western-made unmanned boats which were all destroyed during the attack.

Large-scale pumping of Ukraine with weapons, support for the regime in Kiev and providing the Ukrainian Armed Forces with intelligence for strikes against Russian military facilities are increasingly drawing NATO countries into the conflict and could lead to a direct clash with Moscow "with the most negative consequences for its members."

"The sabotage against the Russian Navy in the exclusive maritime economic zone of Turkey, at a distance of more than 200 nautical miles from the area of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, is a continuation of the provocative course of the Anglo-Saxons to escalate and expand its geography," an informed source told RIA Novosti.

According to him, unmanned aerial vehicles to attack the Russian ship were launched from the naval operations center, opened with the participation of the United States in Ochakovo back in 2018. They were controlled using built-in Starlink satellite Internet modules received by Kiev from the United States, and the target designation of the drones was provided by American reconnaissance equipment.

The source denied the information of the Kyiv representatives about the use of UAVs of their own production, since the appearance of the Ukrainian Mykola-type sea drones, assembled from components supplied to Kiev by NATO, is completely different.

This indicates that Kyiv for attacks and provocations in the Black Sea was given "an undeclared for the Western public batch of new Western-made maritime unmanned vehicles." Most likely, the United Kingdom is behind this, having "extensive experience in the creation and combat use of such systems in various parts of the world's oceans," the agency's source said.

On May 24 the Ministry of Defense reported that Ukraine attempted to attack with drone boats the ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Ivan Khurs, which ensured the security of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines in Turkey. Russian sailors destroyed all drones 140 kilometers northeast of the Bosphorus. On 26 the ship arrived in Sevastopol to resupply.
