The preparatory phase of the BRICS Future Skills Challenge, an international championship aimed at identifying and developing promising skills and building global networking among partner countries in the field of education and technology development, has been launched. This is reported on the BRICS National Research Committee website.

It is noted that the events will take place until December in a combined face-to-face and remote format with management centres on the BRICS education sites.

The BRICS Future Skills Challenge will bring together competitors and experts from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The international championships will cover more than 70 competences.

In addition, the countries have outlined initiatives and activities to be implemented throughout the year as part of the championship. Beginning in June, special working groups will be launched to design and develop a BRICS skills certification system, which will be joined by Russian experts.

Work is actively underway to establish and expand a partnership network of colleges and universities under the auspices of the BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Academy, taking into account the Russian "skills passport" initiative. The Agency is a platform for the formation of the BRICS partnership network.

Since April, the "BRICS Auditorium", a project that includes forums dedicated to the development and exchange of best practices in the different areas of Future Skills, has been underway.

Joint educational programmes will also be developed with universities in Russia and BRICS+ countries in seven competencies led by the Agency: "Space Systems Engineering", "Flying Robotics", "Industrial Design", "Blockchain Technologies", "Operation of Unmanned Aerial Systems", "Machine Learning and Big Data", "Web Design".
