In January-June 2024, non-resource non-energy exports (NNE) from Moscow to the BRICS countries were more than 12 per cent of the national equivalent, China, Egypt, Iran and India being the key buyers, as revealed by Anatoly Garbuzov, Moscow Government Minister, Head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
“In the first six months of 2024, Moscow-based producers increased supplies to Egypt by more than 40 per cent compared to the same period in 2023. The leaders in exports also include Iran with an increase of more than 18 per cent and India as deliveries to this country have grown by more than 14 per cent. So, in the first half of the year, Moscow’s share in the national NNE to the BRICS countries exceeded 12 per cent. Metropolitan industrialists supplied the largest amount of non-resource non-energy products to China — a third of the total NNEs from Moscow to the BRICS markets,” says Anatoly Garbuzov. Supplies from Moscow’s food and processing enterprises to the BRICS countries increased by 50 per cent in 1H, They buy chocolate products, finished flour-based products and much more from Moscow producers.
For example, backed by the Mosprom Center, a local beverage manufacturer took part in an international industry fair, obtained a certificate of conformity and made a deal with a counterparty from Iran for the supply of non-alcoholic drinks.
Since 2022, thanks to support provided by the Mosprom Center, Moscow exporters of non-resource and non-energy products have reoriented their exports and found new partners in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and CIS countries.
