Russian Culture Festival to Take Place in India This Year

Russian culture festival to take place in India this year. Deputy minister of culture Alexander Zhuravsky and the head of Indian Diplomatic mission in Russia Pancaj Saran had talks on that subject, MFA portal reports.

Indian Ambassador has proposed to hold festival in conjunction with high-level Summit in Delhi. Let us remember, last year Russia and India have signed the agreement on cultural exchange. At this point Russian culture festival to become one of the important events of this agreement. It is planned that Russian-Indian festival will become annual.

Namaste, Russia! festival that was conducted last year was timed with the anniversary of Russian-Indian diplomatic relationship. It is remarkable that three times more Indian tourists came to Russia due to this event. Pankaj Saran promised to organize Namaste, Russia! Festival in 2018 as well.

The head of Indian Diplomatic mission in Russia proposed to develop relations between Indian Council for Cultural Relations and Russian film organizations. Deputy minister of culture Alexander Zhuravsky confirmed that the draft intergovernmental audio-visual co-production agreement on is ready to sign.
